ROAMING
FREE
Roaming Free represents a collaboration between two masters
of their instruments with complimentary styles who have
created something bigger than the sum of the two combined.
From the fiery delight of a reel to the controlled
abandonment of a slow air, Colin MacLeod's fiddle sings as
Rory Sinclair's guitar dances and whilst the fiddle lays
solemnly silent, the guitar resurrects sombre compositions
with a glittering quality.
Colin and Rory, first found musical lilt in their native
homeland of Scotland. This experience was enhanced and
further shaped by periods of life spent in Germany (Rory)
and South Africa (Colin) before the chance encounter at the
Australian National Folk Festival in Canberra 2004.
The CD represents a degustation or sampling of some of the
finest Scottish music from Down Under.
